Here's a terriffic quote posted on AndrewSullivan.com:

"Any deep-rooted prejudice against others, such as homophobia or misogyny, would be grounds for rejecting a candidate for the priesthood, but not their sexual orientation." - Timothy Radcliffe, OP, Master, Dominican Order, 1992-2001, Blackfriars, Oxford.

That's a strong opinion. Do you share it? Do you think homosexuals should be banned from the priesthood? Moreover, do you think the Catholic Church should be able to exclude homosexuals?

I'm definately in favor of freedom to associate, which includes the freedom to dissociate. And honestly, the Church is *really* only hurting themselves in my book if they do discriminate among the clergy. Kids aren't getting molested because priests are gay, they're getting molested because priests are sexually frustrated - which stems from the completely non-biblical, arbitrary institution of celebacy.

I do. Homosexuality is not a valid reason for barring someone from serving God as a Catholic priest--a disposition towards pedophilia or blind hatred is. In an effective religious leader, I hope for someone with a genuine and heartfelt compassion for the world around him and a deep, full and sometimes critcal understanding of Catholic theology. Unfortuantely, the current Pope does not share my view. If he did, I would feel a whole lot bete=ter about my Church.

That said, though, I don't beleive the Church should be forced legally to accept homosexuals. I only hope that like the Lord, they leave their hearts and minds open to all who feel compelled to worship and to serve.
