Ya know who really grinds my gears?

Scott McClellan really grinds my gears. The man is simply put, a tool. In responding to concerns about the failures of prewar intelligence, he said, "If Democrats want to talk about the threat that Saddam Hussein posed and the intelligence, they might want to start with looking at the previous administration and their own statements that they've made." I don't even know where to start. First, anytime any politician answers a question by deferring to another politicans' previous statements, it's code for "I really have no credible answer to give you. Perhaps this bullshit will appease you?" Second, the word threat is pretty fucking vague. Sure, President Clinton and his fellow Democrats have said in the past that Saddam posed a threat--he's an evil man that does evil things. No one's gonna dispute that--excpet maybe Michale Moore and Noam Chomsky. But, he never tried to persuade the American public that he had nuclear capablitlies and could some day very soon attack the United States with them. Never. That would have been a lie. A very consequential and blatant lie. Third, I have no doubt that in the post September 11th environment, Iraq would not have been on Clinton's must-invade list. Or Gore's. Or Kerry's. This is Bush's war, plain and simple. The extent to which prewar intelligence was knowingly faulty and exaggerated is now painfully and tragically clear. We all, especially the families of the 2,000+ American soliders killed, deserve a heartfelt apology.
