I suppose we should expect more of the same

from President Bush tonight. Sadly, I don't think even his sagging poll numbers will persuade GDub to finally start leveling with the American people, and even more tragically, with the thousands of soliders in harm's way. The insurgency is not, and never was, in its "last throes" as the Vice President would have us beleive. Our goverment's willingness and seeminlgy natrual inclination to mislead us is insulting and disheartening. It wasn't always like this; FDR once proclaimed, "Your government has unmistakable confidence in your ability to hear the worst, without flinching or losing heart. You must, in turn, have complete confidence that your government is keeping nothing from you except information that will help the enemy in his attempt to destroy us." Can anyone, even the most ardent Bush suporter, confidently look me in the eye and tell me that the Bush administration is not keeping anything from us?
